Illegal practice was soon exposed after the parents of a 14-year-old girl complained to Trading Standards when she home with a tattoo on her leg. After raiding the schoolboy's bedroom in Blackpool, Lancashire, officers found a tattooist's kit under his bed with a stained 'skull and crossbones' tattoo gun and contaminated needles. They also recovered a blender for the inks, rubber gloves and tracing paper for designs including hearts, butterflies and swallows. It is believed the 15-year-old boy had attempted to sterilise the needles using household Dettol, hand gel and Savlon cream.

It is illegal in Britain to tattoo any children under 16 and it's only legal for 16 to 18-year olds if they have parental consent. The maximum sentence for those convicted of tattooing under age youngsters can be a fine of up to a £1,000 pounds. But tattoos remain popular among children who attempt to copy their celebrity heroes. Councillor Fred Jackson at Blackpool Council, said: 'It's shocking to think the risks that young people are taking using unregistered tattooists.'We work very closely with the parlours in the town to ensure that anyone having a tattoo is doing so in a safe and hygiene environment.'I understand that the equipment can be bought from as little as £50 on eBay, making it more accessible than ever to those wanting to make a quick buck.'The last thing we want is young people making a bad decision that could cause permanent damage and impact on their health.'

Bully Whippet - The Muscular Dog On Earth

Bully Whippet - The Muscular Dog On Earth

What do you think about the DOG in the picture? It’s really unbelievable what your eyes are seeing, you might think that this picture is edited in Photoshop, but my friends it’s real and insane.
The bread of dog in the picture is called “bully whippet,” a bread of whippet with a genetic transformation that makes it more powerfully built and faster than standard dogs.
The name of the dog in the picture is “Wendy”. The bully whippet ”Windy”, lives in Victoria, British Columbia, and is extraordinary in that she has two mutated copies of the gene and is therefore a “double-muscled” bully whippet who weighs twice as compare to the standard one. The increased muscle mass, along with metabolism and extremely low levels of body fats, can transform to impressive super-feats, including marked increases in speed, agility and power.

10 Weirdest Taxes People Would Pay

Flush tax

You pee, you poo, you pay. In 2004, the Maryland Legislature took a major step towards protecting the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, when it passed what has become known as “the flush tax”.
The bill established the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Restoration Fund to be supported by a $2.50 a month fee on sewer bills and an equivalent $30 annual fee on septic system owners. Utilities customers saw a new line item on their quarterly bills beginning January 1, 2005 for $7.50 per quarter ($2.50 per month). These funds are collected by the County and turned over to the State who distributes the funds to utilities to upgrade wastewater treatment plants to reduce nitrogen discharge which causes algae blooms that harm fish, crabs, native plants and other aquatic life. The revenues from septic tank users are used to upgrade or replace failing septic systems and to provide financial assistance to farmers to help plant cover crops to prevent nutrient runoff from agricultural land. Bagels tax

In 2010, New York cracked down on its enforcement of the tax on prepared food, specifically targeting a New York staple: bagels. If you buy a whole bagel and take it home with you, it is exempt from tax. However, if you purchase that same bagel, but eat it at the bagel shop (even without cream cheese), bagel shops must charge sales tax on the purchase price. Apparently, the mere slicing of a bagel kicks your bagel purchase into a taxable transaction. As a result, New Yorkers are paying approximately 8 to 9 cents more per bagel

Hot air balloons tax

In 2010, the Kansas Department of Revenue issued a private letter ruling discussing the taxability of hot air balloon rides. Kansas generally taxes sales of admissions to “any place providing amusement, entertainment or recreation services.” The question was not whether or not balloon rides are entertaining, but whether or not federal law pre-empts the imposition of state sales tax on sales of those rides. Under the Anti-Head Tax Act, 29 U.S.C. Section 40116, states and local jurisdictions are prohibited from imposing fees and charges on airlines and other airport users. The department determined that un-tethered balloon rides where the balloon is actually piloted somewhere “some distance downwind from the launching point” would be considered carrying passengers in air commerce and would be pre-empted by the law. However, state sales tax can be imposed on tethered balloon rides

Catholic tax

In Germany, the church is both a legal tax-raising statutory body as well as a community of faith. A Catholic who objects to paying church tax has to formally leave the church, and is subsequently excommunicated. During the last few decades, the Roman Catholic Church has lost significant number of adherents due to this tax

Crack tax

From 2005 to 2009 in Tennessee, drug dealers were subjected to taxes on the sale of illegal substances. The tax was levied per gram of illegal drugs: $3.50 for marijuana, $50 for cocaine, and $200 for meth and crack cocaine. Dealers were to pay anonymously at the state revenue office. In exchange for which they would receive stamps to affix to their illegal substance. The stamps served as evidence you had paid the tax on the illegal product.

Tennessee has collected more than $6 million from the crack tax, much of which came from confiscated property. In 2006 alone, the state collected $1.8 million

Soul tax

Peter the Great, czar of Russia, imposed a tax on souls in 1718, meaning everybody had to pay it (it's similar to a head tax or a poll tax). Peter was antireligious (he was an avid fan of Voltaire and other secular humanist philosophers), but agreeing with him didn't excuse anyone from paying the tax—if you didn't believe humans had a soul, you still had to pay a “religious dissenters” tax. Peter also taxed beards, beehives, horse collars, hats, boots, basements, chimneys, food, clothing, all males, as well as birth, marriage, and even burial

Tattoo tax

Since 2005, anyone in Arkansas wanting to get an eagle etched on their abs or a nose ring notched in their nostrils will have to pay an additional 6 percent, as the state included tattooing and body piercing in its list of services subject to sales taxes. Electrolysis treatments count, too.

Urine tax

Pecunia non olet ("money does not smell") is a Latin saying. The phrase originally related to the urine tax levied by the Roman emperors Nero and Vespasian in the 1st century upon the collection of urine.

The tax was actually levied on the collection of urine by the toilet operators who sold it on, at great profit, to tanners and cleaners who utilized the liquid's high ammonia content. Perhaps a reintroduction of this admirable recycling of waste products could aid modern sustainable industry practices.

Wig powder tax

In 1795, powdered wigs were all the rage in men's fashion. Desperate for income to pay for military campaigns abroad, British prime minister William Pitt the Younger levied a tax on wig powder. Although the tax was short-lived due to the protests against it, it did ultimately have the effect of changing men's fashions. By 1820 powdered wigs were out of style

Witchcraft tax

Like many countries, Romania is in a recession so it's doing whatever it can to raise revenue. This year, the Romanian government identified a new source of heretofore untaxed profession: witches! Naturally, the witches aren't taking this laying down and are planning to use cat excrement and dead dogs to cast spells on the president and government. Under the law, like any self-employed person, the witches must pay 16 percent income tax and make contributions to health and pension programs.

Also among Romania's newest taxpayers are fortune tellers — but they probably should have seen it coming.

Hard Jobs For Santa Claus At The Shopping Malls

Hard Jobs For Santa ClausGetting paid to dress up as cheery, chubby Santa Claus may seem like a cushy seasonal job, but the truth is, it's hard out there for a Santa -- especially a mall Santa.

Just ask professional Santa Claus Tom Carmody, a former high school teacher who's been "Clausing" for the past eight years, four of which were spent at malls around the U.S.

Carmody told AOL News that being a professional mall Santa is a tougher job than most people realize. Turns out, only the strong survive.

Courtesy of Tom Carmody
Professional Santa Tom Carmody admits being a mall Santa is tough, but in the end, it's all worth it.

"You have to be partially deaf to deal with the constant noise around you," Carmody joked. "That, and extreme patience and an ability to stay in character at all times -- even when your shift is over."

Carmody, who's played jolly old St. Nick at malls in Washington, D.C., Cincinnati and Chicago, said the typical steady mall gig consists of 10-hour shifts up to seven days a week for roughly two months between early November and Christmas Eve.

But for "naturally bearded" Santas like himself, the role continues even after clocking out.

"It's much harder for us to blend in because we look like Santa with or without the costume. It becomes a real challenge when you're eating at a restaurant after your shift and you realize that your every move is being observed by kids around you. You have to behave," he explained.

Carmody recalled a time when he was grabbing a bite after work at an Applebee's and absentmindedly decided to have a beer with dinner.

"I heard a little boy say to his mom, 'I didn't know Santa drank beer,' and I immediately knew I made a mistake. Beer is a major no-no for Santa. So is smoking, since it turns your beard yellow."

Another challenge for a mall Santa is that big red suit, which can get very hot under those bright lights and photo cameras.

Carmody said his trick during his mall Santa days was to wear a "cooling vest" under his coat -- a special vest filled with ice packs to keep himself from overheating.

Then, of course, there's the number of unexpected things that can happen on the job, including bratty kids throwing objects at Santa.

Seriously. Carmody said he was once hit in the head with a strawberry that some naughty child flung from a few stories above in an attempt to be funny. Santa was not amused.

He also admitted he's been puked on "just a little" by babies on the job, but he's never been farted or peed on by kids, so that's a plus.

"People always ask if a kid has ever peed on my lap, but that's never happened to me," he said with a jolly laugh. "Really, it's not that bad. Being a mall Santa was never intolerable, just exhausting."

Courtesy of Tom Carmody
Carmody said he's been puked on by kids at work, but never peed on. Happy holidays.

Hard Jobs For Santa Claus"I did get older kids tugging at my beard and questioning my validity, though, especially middle-school children who had outgrown Santa. They were the hardest to please, but I'd just talk to
them about the spirit of giving."

Carmody has also had to deal with endless crying children, particularly those between the ages of 10 months and 3 years old, who tend to freak out the minute they're on Santa's lap.

"I don't make them cry. It's the separation anxiety from their parents. One minute they're with Mom and the next they're on some stranger's lap, so of course they're going to cry," he said.

That's exactly how parents wind up with those typical crying shots of their kids with Santa. You know, the ones they dig up every Christmas to embarrass you in front of everyone.

To avoid those mall Santa meltdowns, Carmody said he developed several strategies. First, he would suggest the parents appear with their babies in the photograph so the child wouldn't experience that sudden separation anxiety.

He'd also have kids sit by themselves in his chair while he sneaked up behind them in the picture. They wouldn't even see him, avoiding a crying crisis altogether.

However, that type of picture might wind up on Sketchy Santas, a website featuring photos of creepy Santas.

While tears can be averted by a good mall Santa, embarrassing moments are inevitable.

Carmody said his most cringe-worthy moment as Kris Kringle was the time he was taking a picture with a man and a woman in their 20s who appeared, at least to him, to be a couple very much in love.

"They were on my lap and I told them to smile and think about the first time they kissed and they looked at me with utter shock and screamed, 'We're brother and sister!' I was so embarrassed. That's what you get for making assumptions."

Other memorable moments have come from the funny gifts kids request when they're sitting on his lap, including live dinosaurs.

"The weirdest request I ever got was from a 5-year-old girl who asked for a debit card for Christmas. Not a doll, not a bike, but a debit card. I couldn't believe it," he recalled.

Still, no matter what happens at the mall, Carmody said a Santa's attitude must always remain upbeat and positive.

"Even if you're in a bad mood, you have to become the loving, giving, cheerful spirit of Santa Claus. It's your duty, if you're one of the good ones," he added.

Take notes, bad Santas.

Of course, not just anyone can be a mall Santa.

Although Carmody believes he was "born" to play St. Nick, he also had extensive training.

He graduated from the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School in Michigan -- known as "the Harvard of Santa schools" -- where he earned a master's in mall "Clausing."

And though his mall days are behind him, he can still be found donning a red suit for Santa Claus & Co. in Colorado, a professional Santa-booking company that hires out Santas for parties and events.

Just don't pee on his lap.
